The start of something extraordinary

Radford Rips It At Rottnest

New Zealand champion Kane Radford has taken out one of Australia’s prized open water events with victory in the Rottnest Channel Swim in Western Australia today.

The Perth-based Radford won the 20km challenge from Cottesloe Beach to Rottnest Island in 4hrs25mins.

It proved a challenging day with windy and choppy conditions, with Radford likening the day to “four hours in a washing machine.”

“It was definitely more of a mental game. I’m just glad to be ashore,” the 24-year-old said.
