Swimming New Zealand has committed to undertaking a review of our competitive swimming pathway to ensure that our national events calendar is appropriately aligned to the Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD) Progression model.
To ensure we canvas the views of as many members possible,
a series of presentations on the proposed competitive pathway has been conducted with leading NZ coaches, NZSCTA as well as presentations at national competitions. The presentation aims to outline the current progression and performance of New Zealand swimmers of all ages, what SNZ believe are the challenges in front of us to be addressed and how we might go about it. For those not able to attend any of the presentations a discussion paper “SNZ New Competitive Pathway Proposal” has been developed to provide an overview and rationale of the proposal.
