Mt Eden Swimming Club is a family friendly club committed to providing quality coaching and competition.
We currently have about 90 members in our club ranging from beginners to Commonwealth and Olympic Games qualifiers. We have committed coaching staff running programmes to suit all levels. Training is available at 2 locations – DGSS Mt Eden and DGSS Kelston.
The Mt Eden Swimming Club was established in the early 1900’s at the Mt Eden Swimming Pool.
Over the years the Club has enjoyed success at both National and International level with such swimmers as Commonwealth Games Gold Medallists Dave Gerard and Anthony Mosse.
The Club has recently expanded to include swimmers based at the Kelston Girls College Pool in the DGSS competitive program and continues to be well represented at National Level.
The relationship with the Dean Greenwood Swim School began in 1995 and the swim school continues to encourage swimmers from the learn to swim program to try the sport. The swim school also supports the coaching staff in continuing education for competitive swimming coaching.
Many swimmers are beginning their competitive careers by enjoying the Auckland Swimming League competitions; the team is supported by the swim school.
The swimmers can then progress through local and regional competitions to national age group and open events. Once at this level they can qualify for international competitions as part of the New Zealand teams.
