The start of something extraordinary

JAG Squad

All JAG Squad Swimmers (Junior Agr Group) compete and follow a seasonal programme targeting specific regional and national meets.  Swimmers in this squad are competent in competing in all strokes and distances with the technical skills to compete with confidence.

While good stroke quality and technical correctness are still very important in this squad, the work is more challenging and uses a variety of different types of sets and intensities aimed at developing good all round fitness.

Training Sessions:  JAQ squad swimmers aim to make 5 or more sessions per week.

Promotion:  When a swimmer achieves the combined racing and training targets set for the squad the head coach will invite them to move up to A Squad at the appropriate time.

Equipment Required:  2 pairs of goggles, towel, training kit bag with fins, finger paddles and pull buoy.

Competition Level:  Canterbury Championships, South Island Championships, National Junior or National Div II Championships.
