The second annual State New Zealand Secondary Schools Swimming Championships in Hamilton this weekend have already proved a real winner.
The annual event pits the best young age group swimmers in New Zealand against two teams from Australia in six tests over six days in three venues – Canberra, Wagga Wagga and Melbourne.
The swimmers will form part of the overall team under the New Zealand Olympic Committee for the Festival on January 17-20, which is expected to attract 1700 athletes under-18 years from 30 nations competing in 17 sports.
