The start of something extraordinary

2017 Legends Relay

The Legends Relay is back for 2017 with more of New Zealand’s past swimming greats coming together to support the future of the sport.

In the fourth year of the event eight teams of six will compete in a 6x50m freestyle relay in between sessions of the New Zealand Zonal Championships on Saturday 11 February at the Sir Owen G Glenn National Aquatic Centre on Auckland’s North Shore.

As well as competing for honours in the pool teams are competing to raise the most for the New Zealand Swimming Alumni, who last year were able to give out more than $55,000 in grants to up and coming swimmers with the support of the funds raised from the 2016 Legends Relay.

In 2017 the teams are aiming to raise even more money from the Legends Relay, each setting a target of $5,000.

This year’s Legends Relay is also being supported by Northern Arena, Links Modular, Absolute Insurance, Panasonic, PitaPit and Galloway International.
